For those of us around the world who are facing possible school closings due to the flu outbreak, I am happy to report an additional use for my podcasts!
On Friday, I informed my students that we would be using them as a review an instructional tool in the even that our school is forced to close due to the swine flu outbreak.
We have cases reported in two counties adjacent to ours and our District has advised us of the risks. With only six weeks before the end of the school year, and exams looming, we cannot afford to lose a week or two at this point.
I am planning on using my podcasts in
www.masterymaze.com as part of online instruction which I will conduct in my newest Moodle-
www.masteryreview.com. All of my students are registered and ready to go.
My experience has proven time and again the usefullness of the podcasts I have created for my subjects. It was well worth the time to do so!
Don't have a moodle? Posting your podcasts to any web page can create the same options! Wikispaces is an option if your school does not have a suitable website.
Keep your fingers crossed that I won't need them for this purpose. If we do have to face a closure, we will have tools to continue learning! :)
