I agree for the most part - i.e. I only just recently starting doing something similar. I've been recording my classes for the past three year. Now my students can listen to past classes (not just lecture but quite interactive) so that when we meet in class I can spend more time doing problem based learning.
The only thing I disagree with is the concept of removing computers from the classroom. I still use my throughout the class because images and video are powerful teaching tools and students retain more whn there is a visual component. I also use Elluminate in the class and my students login from their laptop and interact with the whiteboard. I also ask my students to search for information on the Internet during the class and simultaneously help them with information literacy.
I totally agree with your comment. I am not so sure he was really serious about the computers in the classroom comment. My podcasts have been very worth the effort of creating them. They have served as a great resource to my students and other teacher's students as well.
